“Nature loves courage. You make the commitment and nature will respond to that commitment by removing impossible obstacles. Dream the impossible dream and the world will not grind you under, it will lift you up. This is the trick. This is the shamanic dance in the waterfall. This is how magic is done. By hurling yourself into the abyss and discovering it’s a feather bed.”― Terence McKenna

I’m Debra, and am grateful you’re here. Let me know if I can assist you in any way.

The idea for Psychonaut was birthed after taking a “heroic” dose of mushrooms. I was at the crossroads in my life and decided to follow the guidance of Terence McKenna, which was to consume 5g of mushrooms and sit in a dark room in silence. What ensued would best be described as pure chaos. I would never believe that mushrooms could rival an ayahuasca journey but I remember having a hard time figuring out if I was, indeed, at an ayahuasca ceremony – even though I was in the comforts of my own bedroom. I was LIT AF.
In the midst of the chaos, a vision came through VERY clearly. I saw people at what appeared to be a UFC event (don’t ask me why) wearing shirts that had simple designs but were representative of Psychonaut culture, with the PURPOSE being to raise awareness of the healing properties of psychedelics and similar compounds. I had registered the domain psychonaut.co a year earlier, for no reason other than I loved the word. This vision connected the dots. It was so vivid and clear… I woke up the next day and started working on the logo.

What’s My Deal?

I am driven by my life’s experience to help those that wish to help themselves, especially as it pertains to using psychedelics to heal.

I spent a great deal of time between 1996-2015 on MDMA. Not only did it transform my life, I watched it help so many others.

I’ve had magnificent, reality-bending, transcendental experiences – both sober and under the influence of plant medicine.

I’ve attended 4 ayahuasca ceremonies and did it once by myself (terrible idea).

The first 24 or so years of my life weren’t pleasant but since then, I’ve had so many amazing experiences, I could die happy today.

I’ve overcome a fuck ton of challenges in my life. I’m not 100% yet but I’m 10,000% further then when I started.

You would never hear me use the word GOD until December 2018 when I had a totally sober interaction with he/she/it that changed the course of my life.

My family is made up of the most kick ass, non-DNA related souls on the planet and I am blessed to be loved by them.

I am not married, I don’t have kids and I consider this a blessing!

As much as I have a raging lady boner for life, I coined the term “Life is a kick in the c*nt.” Shit can get brutal. Cover your crotch.

I am wildly fascinated by psychology and the human condition. It is one of my biggest passions in life.

I own and operate a digital marketing agency.

In a Nutshell

I’ve been on my own since 18 years of age and, holy hell, it’s been quite the ride. Thru all of the years of turbulence, I managed to maintain a career and take care of myself at any cost. I’ve been penniless and I’ve experienced excess. Never having anything to fall back on makes you appreciate what you have. It forces you to be capable in times that you feel you can’t go on.

I’ve traveled the country as well as other countries. I’ve met the full spectrum of people along the way. I’ve been in a room full of junkies and I’ve dined at 5 star restaurants with executives. I’ve sat at the top, been paralyzed at the bottom and lots of places in between. I’ve learned that my reality is not everyone’s reality and is sometimes not even reality at all. That I don’t know everything, nor will I ever. I stopped being judgmental and I’m far less opinionated. Life always holds surprises that are bound to prove me wrong.
